If you would like to commemorate this special day with us in some way, we would love if you brought us a copy of your favorite book including a dedication. Most of you know that Becky and I both love books and view many of our favorites as reflections of specific moments in time.
As we spend the day creating beautiful memories that will last the rest of our lives, the legacy-library that we begin with these commemorations, will be a wonderful reminder of those that love us and shared this experience with us. New, used, paperback, hardcover: books are very personal to us and we will view anything that you choose to share with us as a reflection of that love.
If you have any additional questions, or would like additional guidance, feel free to contact us. If you have questions that you would rather not share with us, please do not hesitate to call or text our dear friend Susan Melchionne at 612-990-6995.
Many of you probably know that, as a couple, we believe that everyone should have the right to marry the person they love. The current marriage laws in most U.S. states create a great civil inequity that punishes our friends and family in the LGBT community. Consequently, as another/additional option, please consider donating to the following organizations in lieu of a gift:
From their website:
Project 515’s mission is to ensure that same sex couples and their families have equal rights and considerations under Minnesota law.
Project 515 believes:
- All families should be equally valued and respected under the law.
- All families should be treated fairly in their homes, neighborhoods, workplaces and communities.
- For true equality and fairness under Minnesota law to become a reality, all committed couples must share similar obligations and responsibilities.
Minnesotans United for All Families
From their website:
Minnesotans United for All Families is a broad coalition of organizations and community and business leaders. Faith, labor, progressive, and nonpartisan organizations, communities of color, current and former elected officials, Republicans, Democrats, Greens, Independents, and Libertarians have all joined to defeat the constitutional amendment which would limit the freedoms of Minnesotans and ban marriage for same-sex couples in Minnesota.
